Before participating in ANY group rides you must have a club membership, for insurance purposes. If you decide the club isn’t for you, memberships are fully refundable before the end of July, after which only the ABA portion is refundable.

All new members should attend either the skills clinics, or send a message to us prior to participating in any other group rides. This gives us a good indication of your abilities so that we can recommend further training rides, or allow us to plan for additional resources during the ride for your safety and ours.

The registration process will look a little different this year, as we have been required to move to CCNBikes for our registration platform. Overall, it is fairly straight forward, but you probably want to be sitting at a computer to work through it. The biggest difference is that the ABA Membership portion and cost is broken out separately and it is within this “sub checkout” where you will select your membership level (Community, Provincial(Citizen), or UCI). For most of you, just click Community. It will be $53, and subsequently, the amount that we charge will still be the same as our 2026 plan (ie. we charge $150, and the ABA charges $53, for a total of $203, plus processing fees). A community membership level is appropriate for you if you just want to participate in ERTC weekly rides, ABA Fondos, and midweek inter-club racing, or track league.  As usual the process shouldn’t take more than 5 minutes, but can be confusing.

Note that the “Summer Velodrome Access” is a placeholder deposit and is an indicator of interest in summer Velodrome access. Once a schedule has been worked out for summer access, an actual cost will be calculated and either you will be asked to pitch in more, or be partially refunded. Your regular fee already includes winter velodrome access (as it does now).

If you are racing, or plan on racing, at the provincial level or higher, you can pay for your license as part of this process. This will charge you the full racing license amount as well. We will have a seminar later on in the season about how it all works and how to register but you can go ahead and get that out of the way now if you like. A racing license is approximately $200 (instead of the $53 you would pay as a community member). Make sure you pick UCI Racing License (and NOT the “Unaffiliated +$15$) one.

As part of this, the upgraded insurance is also part of the sub-checkout. The details remain the same in terms of coverage, and so does the pricing. Liability Coverage and limited paramedical coverage for all club rides is included in the $53. Additional coverage for “Individual training” is available for an additional $20, and “Anytime on a bike” coverage is available for an additional $100.

When you complete the sub-checkout, you will be returned to “our” registration, where we ask you the usual questions about emergency concerns, and our opt-in programs. Any questions about any part of the process can be directed at me, on slack, or via email; however, if it's part of the ABA “sub-checkout” process, I will forward them to the ABA if I cannot help you. Please do let me know since it helps me better answer them for people who are also having trouble, as well as working with the ABA to iron out any wrinkles. I have ran several test registrations and a real one (for myself) so it should all be working now. Your receipt will show 2 different entities, both us, and the ABA, as your cart automatically splits and remits to the ABA and us, respectively.

I recommend everyone making an account at CCNBikes as it is very likely that more events and registrations will be moving to this platform in 2026. It is overall smoother and less error prone than Zone4, and eases paperwork on the backend.

You will also note that there is an additional “registration insurance.” You can purchase that is based on a % of your total fee in case of something being out of your control happens and you want a refund. This is a service that is offered by the registration platform and NOT us. Our refund policy continues to be “no refunds after June 1st, or a month after join, whichever comes sooner.” Any other reasons will be evaluated on a case to case basis. I can’t say if this is worth it to you or not, as everyone has a different view on insurance and risk.

Once you have paid, please mention at your first ride and your ride leader will check for confirmation that you have registered.

Not sure you want to join? We currently have a one-ride policy, which means you can ride with us one ride before you must either register, or try a different club, as mandated by the Alberta Bicycle Association. If you want to ride with us for this one ride, please sign the waiver below and note it to your ride leader.
